Nicholas Z. Okeson, D.O.
Dr. Okeson grew up in Weskan, Kansas and graduated with a B.A. in biology from Bethany College. He attended medical school at Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, Missouri, did his internship and residency at Sun Coast Hospital in Largo, Florida. He loved the warm weather in Florida and decided to make it his home.
Dr. Okeson has been established in private practice since 1998 and in 2003 joined Tri Star Medical Partners. He is board certified with the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians and a member of the Pinellas County Osteopathic Medical Society, Florida Osteopathic Medical Association and American Osteopathic Association.
Currently Dr. Okeson is active on medical staff at Largo Medical Center Indian Rocks (formerly Sun Coast Hospital) and Largo Medical Center in Largo as well as Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater, Florida. He enjoys teaching medical students, interns and residents and has teaching appointments at the Dept. of Medical Education at Sun Coast Hospital and the Dept. of Family Medicine at Nova Southeastern University.
Dr. Okeson is involved with several charities including the Abilities Foundation. He likes traveling, food, and wine as well as the performing arts. He loves his alma mater at Bethany College - "Go Swedes!" and spending time with family and friends.
